Franz will provide a suitable environment for mushrooms to grow until the mutual interaction between the fungi and the machine is inevitably terminated. Franz is programmed to be sacrificial and not a very smart machine. As Stanislaw Lem once said “true intelligence demands choice and internal freedom.”
